Samantha Gaul is a permanent member of the ensemble at Oper Leipzig, where she regularly appears in roles such as Pamina (The Magic Flute<\/em>), Musetta (La Boh\u00e8me<\/em>), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier<\/em>), Gretel (H\u00e4nsel and Gretel<\/em>), \u00c4nnchen (Der Freisch\u00fctz<\/em>), Nannetta (Falstaff<\/em>), and Despina (Cos\u00ec fan tutte<\/em>). She received particular acclaim for the role of L\u2019Inconnue in the world premiere of Coming Up For Air<\/em>.<\/p>

In the 2026\/27 season, she makes her debut as Lauretta and Suor Genovieffa (Il Trittico<\/em>) and can be seen as Susanna in a new production of Le Nozze di Figaro<\/em> at Oper Leipzig.<\/p>

A close artistic colloboration connects Samantha Gaul with the Budapest Festival Orchestra under Iv\u00e1n Fischer, with whom she makes her debut at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden in the role of Pamina, returning to the B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k National Concert Hall in Budapest as well as the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza.<\/p>

On the concert stage, she will make her debut with the MDR Symphony Orchestra in Poulenc\u2019s Gloria<\/em> at the Gewandhaus Leipzig, and will join the Bochum Symphony Orchestra for Haydn\u2019s Die Jahreszeiten<\/em> at the Musikforum Ruhr.<\/p>

Together with the Thomanerchor Leipzig under Andreas Reize, she will open the Bachfest 2027 with Mozart\u2019s Mass in C minor<\/em>.<\/p>

Numerous guest engagements have taken Samantha Gaul to prestigious venues, including the Komische Oper Berlin (Nannetta, Gretel), the NCPA Beijing (Adele), Theater Basel (Augusta Leigh), Staatstheater Darmstadt (Flora, Linfea), Konzerttheater Bern (Musetta), as well as the Oper Frankfurt and the Op\u00e9ra National de Montpellier (Naiad). At the Staatstheater Augsburg, she excelled in roles such as Sophie Scholl (Die wei\u00dfe Rose<\/em>), the title role in Hartmann\u2019s Simplicius Simplicissimus<\/em>, Serpetta (La finta giardiniera<\/em>), and Adina (L\u2019elisir d\u2019amore<\/em>).<\/p>

She has also appeared at the Munich Biennale for Contemporary Music Theatre, the Schwetzingen SWR Festival, the Rheingau Musik Festival, the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, the Philharmonie Berlin, the Kulturpalast Dresden, Villa Wahnfried in Bayreuth, the Philharmonie K\u00f6ln, and the Liederhalle Stuttgart.<\/p>

A passionate concert and lieder singer, Samantha Gaul was thrilled to make her debut at the Schubertiade Hohenems in spring 2022 with pianist Kit Armstrong, where they premiered songs set to poems by Ulla Hahn. She also made her debut at the Philharmonie Luxembourg with Mahler\u2019s 4th Symphony<\/em> under Carlo Rizzari.<\/p>

From 2018 to 2022, Samantha Gaul was a permanent ensemble member at Theater Freiburg, where she sang key roles of her repertoire. She earned special recognition for her portrayal of the title role in the German premiere of Mark-Anthony Turnage\u2019s Coraline<\/em>, as well as for the title role in Jan\u00e1\u010dek\u2019s The Cunning Little Vixen<\/em>, which she also recorded for a CD production with NAXOS and SWR.<\/p>
